Whether you are looking for beautiful beaches, water sports, beautiful scenery, good food or lively nights out, the coast of County Clare has it all. As well as boasting beautiful scenery such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Clare coast has some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

In 2006, four Clare beaches were awarded the Blue Flag award for cleanliness and safety. Lahinch is one of Clare’s most popular holiday towns and has a long beach which is popular among swimmers, body boarders and surfers alike.

Lahinch is also an ideal spot to place to stay for scenic drives along the Clare coast with the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren nearby. The popular coastal town is also known for its lively nightlife. White Strand in Miltown Malbay is just a few kilometers south of Lahinch. This is a smaller beach than Lahinch.

Kilkee is another resort town with an attractive beach facing the Atlantic Ocean, while Ballyvaughn beach in Fanore is also safe and very popular.

The coast of Clare is also ideal for a scenic drive. Take in the scenic coastal towns of Kilrush and Kilkee before following the coastline north to Lahinch. Just a few kilometers north lie the Cliffs of Moher, arguably providing the most stunning scenery on the West coast of Ireland. Further north again you will find Doolin which is famous for its granite, arts and crafts, and traditional music.
