Cork Airport Facilities

Cork Airport boasts the newest airport terminal in Ireland that provides all the comforts and conveniences that the modern traveller could want. As with any modern airport you will find banks and bureau de change; an airport information desk and tourist information desk; and an executive lounge.

However, in keeping with its modern look and feel, Cork Airport also offers state of the art facilities like wireless Internet throughout the terminal building and automated check in.

You will also find a good choice of car rental agencies in the arrivals hall. This range of choice should ensure that you can find a good deal. A good bet is Thrifty Car Rentals, which offers a good range of cars at reasonable prices. However, if you are arriving in peak season you should book ahead at Thrifty Car Rental Cork Airport.

There are also plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. On the ground floor you will find Subway and Starbucks while there is a food court upstairs. There is also a large bar upstairs.

There are a number of shops in the main area while there are also shops beyond the security screening area. Transport to and from the Airport is no problem if you do not rent a car. Air Coach buses depart regularly for Cork City centre from just outside the arrivals hall. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes and fares are €3.90 for a single or €6.50 for a return.

Your other option for getting to and from Cork Airport is by taxi. There is a Taxi rank just outside the main terminal building. A taxi to Cork city centre and the central bus and train stations should cost between €10 and €15. Since it opened in August 2006, Cork Airport’s new terminals have handled almost five million passengers, providing excellent facilities to all.
