The best way to see the island is by following the signposted walks while there is much to offer those interested in bird watching and angling. The island is accessed through a year round ferry that takes between 5 minutes and 15 minutes to make the crossing.

Achill Island

Achill Island is Ireland’s largest island, and is home to five blue-flag beaches and can be accessed by road. There is a multitude of things to do and see, all set in a stunning landscape that is soaked in history. The landscape features spectacular cliffs, mountains, lakes and secluded beaches with enough on offer either those looking to relax or get active.

Valentia Island

Valentia Island is accessible by bridge, and offers a completely different experience to that on offer on either Arranmore or Achill. Situated along the Ring of Kerry, Ireland’s most spectacular scenic route, Valentia Island has a multitude of outdoor activities on offer. From Valentia, you can take a boat to the Skellig Michael, a monastic settlement situated on top of a steep rocky island that dates back from them 7th Century.
