Dublin Itinerary; Part II
Turning right from the Bank of Ireland rather than taking Grafton Street takes you along past the Central Bank building towards Temple Bar (Dublin’s trendiest area) which is an excellent location to try a Guinness in one of the many pubs or restaurants.
Just past Temple Bar is Dublin Castle, (the historic home of the Lord Lieutenant, but now a venue for hosting visiting heads of state, tribunals and EU meetings).
At the end of the street sits Christchurch Cathedral dating back to Norman times and is situated beside one of the few remaining parts of the cities original walls. The cathedral is home to one of the largest crypts in the UK and Ireland and is the final resting place of Strongbow.
To experience Dublin’s medieval history, why not visit Dublinia (beside Christchurch) which provides a multi media depiction of Dublin in the middle ages.
For those with slightly less time to see Dublin, why not take one of the bus tours that take you to all of Dublin’s highlights allowing you to hop on and hop off where it suits you.
Tickets are usually valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase allowing you to do your tour over one full day, or two half days.
