Except for during peak periods or times of exceptionally busy traffic, there is no shortage of taxis available in Dublin with over 12,000 licensed taxis. Taxis in Ireland are easily identifiable by the large yellow rooftop sign on all cars which is either lit meaning the car is available for hire or unlit meaning the car is hired. There are various taxi ranks in and around Dublin City Centre, but usually during non peak times taxis can be easily hailed from the side of the road.
All taxis have a meter built into the dash board and contain information about fares and a picture of the driver with license information. For information about up to date taxi fares in Ireland please click here.
- Taxis From Dublin Airport
There is a taxi rank immediately outside the main arrivals hall at Dublin Airport. There is usually a constant supply of taxi services and the queue is managed by Dublin Airport at peak periods.
- Taxis To Dublin Airport
As already stated, getting a taxi in Dublin can be relatively easy except for during peak periods. Taxi drivers will leave you outside the departures hall at Dublin Airport. Taxi services can be booked in advance for unsocial departure times, a practice that would be recommended if you are not staying in Dublin City Centre.
