Connacht is one of the four provinces in Ireland, and encompasses the counties of Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. The name is derived from the mythical Conn, with Connacht literally meaning the descendents of Conn. Connacht is probably the province that has been least effected by the Celtic Tiger, and as such has managed to retain all of its beauty and charm.
